It has been my good fortune to travel to many parts of the World during my career in golf. Perhaps one of the greatest benefits has been the opportunity to meet with different cultures and speak to hundreds of talented coaches. It really does not matter where the PGA professional performs his or her task, the issues faced are more or less the same as those faced by another professional working in another region, country or even continent.

There is a huge variety of ways in which professionals approach their work. I firmly believe that when good practice is shared then we all save a lot of experimentation hours and heartaches. Some of the individuals who have contributed and shared their knowledge have not received the credit that they truly deserve and yet they have been doing excellent work away from the spotlight to help ensure that European players continue to reside at the top end of the various world rankings. We are equally as grateful to those who perhaps are better known and have allowed us to share their insights into the task of coaching at the sharp end. Whatever the issue it is a sure bet that someone, somewhere will have faced a similar if not the exact same one. It has been said that experience is learning from our mistakes and wisdom is learning form other peoples mistakes.

As a PGA professional I know that it is important to keep updating my knowledge and skills. Many of our Member Countries not only have recognised education programmes but are happy to share their research with the family of PGA professionals through training courses, CPD Programmes and this website.

The theme here is "Learning" and I am sure that in the Pro-Zone section there is something for even the most informed individual to learn from.
